Amy Schoening always knew she wanted to work in healthcare. During college at Baylor, she decided to direct that interest toward dentistry and has never looked back. “Having the skill to truly transform someone’s life by giving them a smile they can feel confident about is what makes dentistry my passion,” she said. “Dentistry also allows me to build relationships, not only with my patients but with their entire families. Those relationships have made my journey positive—for everyone involved.”

Dr. Schoening also loves staying current with the latest advances in dentistry which constantly challenges her to further educate herself. “I was able to start my practice small and watch it grow steadily,” she said. “Because of my wonderfully supportive family and a team of people who’ve stayed with me long term believing in our goals and visions, I can honestly say it was never stressful. I’ve experienced and enjoyed a large, busy practice. Now I’m ready to start over with a smaller, more intimate, boutique-style practice. I have 25 years of dental knowledge, skill, and experience and look forward to offering my patients a practice that reflects my goals and moral standards.”

Dr. Schoening’s patients hail her as a dentist who pays attention to the smallest detail and always takes the time to treat them as respected individuals and family. She believes in slowing down and tuning in to each individual patient and their needs—whether they be physical or emotional.

Dr. Schoening is an active member and past president and board member of Dental Health Arlington, a nationally recognized non- profit with the goal of providing preventive and pain-relieving services to low-income residents as well as educating children about healthy oral hygiene habits. She and her husband, Andrew’s, support of the Oakridge School Board has included donating time and finances to rebuild the Oakridge track and wrestling center. A mom of two, she enjoys reading, yoga, and traveling to Montana to ski in the winter and hike in the summer.

“I’m feeling optimistic about my new, smaller practice in Mansfield,” she said. “I want to take everything I’ve learned, over my 25-year career, and build the perfect, small practice that reflects my philosophy and my vision for dental care, so practicing dentistry is fun and rewarding, for many years to come. In the end, I hope the people I’ve known and touched—both personally and professionally—will remember me as a good person who cared for others, someone they could trust without hesitation.”
